Cllr Emanuel (Manny) Loaring died yesterday morning after a long illness. As well as being a member for Neath North, he was deputy chairman of the planning and development committee of the county borough.

I can’t claim to have known him personally, but he was friendly and helpful to me in my early days as a councillor, although we were in different parties. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
