I have just learned, through the Evening Post, of the death of Elwyn. I knew him for four years, while serving on Blaenhonddan Community Council. It would be fair to say that we crossed swords frequently on the council, but on the rare occasions that we were able to have a talk face-to-face we found some agreement on social matters. Sadly, he was already afflicted with a debilitating illness in those years, which inhibited conversation. I wish I had known him in his prime.

My sympathy goes to Doreen who stood by him and supported him all that time.
