My colleague, Cllr. Des Sparkes, will be sitting in for me at the regular monthly consultation session at Cadoxton Community Centre tomorrow, Saturday 16th October, between 10 and 12 o’clock. This is the first “surgery” that I have personally missed since I became a councillor in 2008, so I trust residents will forgive me.

I will be representing Neath Liberal Democrats at this weekend’s Welsh Liberal Democrat conference in Brecon. I anticipate that there will be urgent discussion of the Welsh party’s response to the Browne report on university funding. Happily, the federal (Britain-wide) party this week restated its opposition to tuition fees.
