Councillor for East Central ward on Coedffranc Town Council Learn more

Disappointed as I was by yesterday’s result in the by-election in Neath North, I was encouraged by the fact that the new Labour councillor is of the age from which we should be drawing more of our council members: mature, but some way from pensionable age. Too many of us are in the latter category.
The local authority has some interesting web-pages, linked to Local Democracy Week, aimed largely – but not wholely – at younger people, who we should also encourage. It would be good to have a more even spread across the ages on the council. With the next council elections about eighteen months away, it is not too soon to start preparing.
